When I started developing my shoe-flip trick (see below) I didn’t think it would become such a big deal. In fact, it sounds like maybe some kids in Tahoe have their own version… and–while the exact history hasn’t been verified yet–they may have even started their thing before me! In any case it’s neat to see some variation. (Their’s is more free style and seem to think it’s okay to use their hands.) Whatever. They have a much better produced documentary about it–it’s pretty funny! Check it out along with (what I thought was the “original”) my trick.

Why NiN’s new album (The Slip) is free

First, you can say a lot of things about Trent Reznor and his music (NiN) but the multiformat Ghosts album (released a few weeks ago) was a big deal. Now, there’s a new album (which I think I like better) called The Slip. Well, you can’t even buy it–well, I guess you will be able to… for now you’ll have to bittorrent it. In addition there’s a film festival of sorts encouraging listeners to mix their own movies with the music from Ghosts. See the second video below to see Trent Reznor explain that. Naturally, this means I had to make a “why vid”:
